Happy 2018!

Wolf Sets Fire wishes you all the best for this new year!

May it be your best year ever! If you wanna do something you’ve been dreaming of for so long, go for it!

What to expect from Wolf Sets Fire in 2018?

I will shoot plenty of concerts for Shoot Me Again webzine and maybe a few other gigs as well. So I’ll definitely continue the concert photography part of Wolf Sets Fire. I’m already looking forward to February as I’m heading to Cologne and to Portsmouth and London for my two favourite bands: BoySetsFire and Hell Is For Heroes. 2017 was the first year I didn’t get to see BoySetsFire (due to their hiatus) at least one time since 2010 when I first saw them live in Berlin. So very excited to see the guys again this year at Family First Festival in Cologne. I also couldn’t be happier to see Hell Is For Heroes again, after they did a short tour in 2012. I’ll be at their Portmouth and 2 London shows. I really hope I’ll get to shoot these concerts!

I’ll also continue the other part of Wolf Sets Fire, nature photography. At this moment I’m waiting for the information on the photography tours of John E. Marriott for this year. I hope to join one of his tours this year and take awesome pictures of Canadian wildlife, especially bears and wolves. Might go and visit Alaska and Yellowstone as well when I’m over in North America. Furthermore there will be plenty more opportunities closer to home. Hope to be able to take nice pictures of badgers this year, as well as more pictures of the fox I saw in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen. Sure there will be a lot more opportunities.

I also started some personal projects in 2017, which I’ll continue in the new year: I Am An Individual and HIFH lyrics project. I am also considering to add a series “One day in the life of…” or something similar. If you have ideas with some social relevance, feel free to send me your idea and more information! In 2017 I didn’t get to start the ‘Comeback Kids‘ project, but this one too I would love to see it started.

To conclude a small reminder that you can still vote for my picture of a bald eagle on the Joker website. It would be a huge help for me if I could win this public voting and receive the 800 euro travel budget to cover my photography tour to Canada and maybe Alaska and Yellowstone! Thanks to everyone who voted already! If you haven’t, you can still vote until 3 January.

See you soon on my blog and on my Instagram!
